A Reader Asks: Will Estrogen Bring My Endometriosis Back?
Happy Sunday, everybody. It's Mere here, and I'm going to get right into it this week!
I've been doing a reader Q&A series where you, the reader, fill out an anonymous questionnaire and I write a blog answering your question directly. A big thank you to anyone who has dropped in a question we are three blogs, submissions deep, and I honestly I have been enjoy this tremendously! Another incredible thing has been being able to refer back to these writings often. Sarah and I were just buzzing after our most recent group mentorship call to which the discussions the coaches bring are SO GOOD, and everybody learns together, grows together. My next Q&A blog is actually going to come from a question from a group mentorship client that aligns perfectly with this series. It's exciting to be able to bring information here that people can reference and come back to.
Today's blog comes from exactly that: a reader question. She had a hysterectomy with one ovary removed for stage 3 deep infiltrating endometriosis, full excision including a bowel resection, and she's scared that starting estrogen hormone therapy will bring it back. She asked when to start hormone therapy, what her options are, and how to weigh the benefits against that risk.
It's a hefty read, so I'm keeping this newsletter short:
My next blog is already locked and loaded: starting hormone therapy after menopause onset!
As always, If you have a question of your own, the anonymous form that started this whole series is still open: Ask Fortify here.
and with that, we wish you an amazing Sunday!
Mere & Sarah
